Warrambui Retreat and Conference Centre

Nested in the heart of nature surrounded by tranquil, picturesque bushland and wildlife, Warrambui Retreat & Conference Centre’s newly refurbished facilities boast charm and functionality in equal measure.
 
The focal point of the site is a 1,000sqm high-ceiling Dome offering a main meeting/ common area for guests including multiple dormitories, a large commercial kitchen with seating and dining area, and storage spaces, all of which are awash in generous natural light. Other upgrades include heating/cooling, lighting, audio-visual, fire safety, and accessible mobility compliance.
 
Our design solution was to create an extension that sympathises not only with the existing building, but also with its natural surroundings. The space features vibrant, natural colour palette complimented by stunning Indigenous artworks of native animals by a local Indigenous artist Greg Joseph, adorning each dormitory door.
