Amala Residential Aged Care
Uniting required the redesign of an 84-bed residential aged care home for the Amala Village site in Gordon, ACT. The desire was for a space efficient home with a welcome and comfortable feel, allowing for ageing in place with dementia specific solutions. Our task also included furniture placement and styling for marketing photography.
To achieve the desired homely environment for residents, we carefully considered spatial layouts, furniture placement and finishes. Further key considerations were suitability for ageing residents and practicality for staff.
To appeal to differing tastes, and to encourage residents to move within the households, the sitting rooms were assigned distinctive functions and themes. Artworks and curios were selected to complement and enhance the individual spaces.
