University of Canberra – Nurse’s Collaboration Space

The University of Canberra (UC), under Estate & Facilities Management, engaged our services to deliver concept design through to post construction consultancy service.

UC required the refurbishment of an entry and under-utilised training room into a collaboration space for the Nursing students to make use of during breaks and provide a further teaching space.

This now stimulating opened area allows for different collaboration opportunities, accommodating large to small groups through to individual study havens. Inspiration for the design and colour scheme was drawn from the famous nurse, Florence Nightingale, as she carried her lantern through the dark night wards.

This concept is reflected in the acoustic wall panel with two ‘glowing’ yellow diamond shapes and a feature night blue wall with lantern inspired wall lights.
