National Film and Sound Archive – Roof Membrane replacement and Facade Stonework Conservation
We were engaged to deliver the facade investigation, report preparation and documentation works for a roof membrane replacement and conservation works to the three principal stonework facades of the National Film and Sound Archives (NFSA), main building in Acton ACT.
Completed in the 1930’s, the building often classified as art deco operated as the Institute of Anatomy until 1984 before the NFSA moved in. It is on the Commonwealth Heritage List which requires works to be consistent with the Conservation policies of the Heritage Management Plan for the place.
For this project, Heritage Authority consultation was undertaken and we prepared a Heritage Impact Statement for all proposed works.
